Why is Vet Meds Online cheaper than my vet?
We have much lower overheads and have a larger market so there is a bigger turnover which helps to keep down costs.
Do you deliver goods outside the U.K.?
Currently we are only supplying products within the U.K.

Why are some drugs Prescription Only Medications (POM's)?
These are products that require a stricter control for your own and your pet's safety. Therefore a prescription is required which states the specific dose and amount allowed for the treatment of a specific illness.
How do we get a prescription?
A form can be printed off the website. Just click on the PRESCRIPTIONS tab to download a form for your veterinary surgeon or they may wish to write their own. Once your veterinarian has completed the details and signed the form, it can be faxed or posted to us. Click on CONTACT US for details of forwarding prescriptions.
How do I know which products require a prescription?
On the product box there will be a small POM printed if this is a prescription only medicine. Alternatively if you click on the product on the Vet Meds Online website, and the green prescription box will indicate if a prescription is required.
How much does a prescription cost?
There should be no charge for a prescription form to be completed until the end of October 2008.Thereafter a prescription fee may be charged.
Can my vet refuse to write a prescription?
No, but your vet will only complete prescriptions if he/she feels that it would be best for your pet's health. Your vet will be the best judge as to what your pet needs.
Do I need a separate prescription forms for different medications?
No. A couple of medications can be filled out on one form.
How long is a prescription valid?
Your vet will decide on how often the prescription needs to be re-issued. If it is valid for a few months but only one month's medication is allowed to be dispensed at once, we can hold your prescription and send out each month's allowance as it is required. When you re-order you will need to tick the box for PRESCRIPTION HELD.
Do prescription diets need prescriptions?
No, but it is better to follow your vet's advice.
What cards do you accept for payments?
Visa, Mastercard, JCB, Solo and Maestro.
Insurance claims. Can we claim the cost of internet medications from our pet's insurance?
Yes, if these products have been recommended by your vet. Telephone your insurance company if you are unsure if the medications are covered on your policy. To make a claim you will need to print a receipt off the website and send this with your insurance claim to the insurance company.
